What is Buckeye Hut like?

The Buckeye Hut is pure comfort in a compact package. Pine-paneled walls and a vaulted ceiling create a warm, open feel the moment you walk in. A stone fireplace with Ohio State themed decor anchors the living room, paired with a gray sofa, log furniture, and a wall-mounted TV with a soundbar. The bedroom sits under the vaulted ceiling with a log bed frame. The full kitchen has pine cabinetry, a stove, microwave, and bar stools at the counter for casual meals. The covered front porch has log Adirondack chairs and opens directly to the yard, where a fire pit and charcoal grill are ready for evening use. The hot tub sits on the porch under the tree canopy, surrounded by forest on all sides. Buckeye Hut is ideal for couples who want a cozy, no-fuss cabin with a bit of Ohio pride baked in. The compact layout keeps everything within arm's reach, so you spend less time looking for things and more time relaxing. Pets are welcome, and the flat rate covers all your pets for the entire stay. Simple, warm, and exactly what a getaway should be.

The Buckeye Hut sits higher than its fire pit area, so when you step out back you look down into a leaf-carpeted clearing where the stone fire pit, metal chairs, and charcoal grill are set among the tree trunks. The surrounding woods are a mix of younger growth that lets filtered light reach the porch through most of the day.

Check-in: 4:00 PM EST. Early check-in at 2:00 PM available for $50, subject to availability.
Check-out: 10:00 AM EST. Late checkout at 12:00 PM available for $50, subject to availability.
Pets: Welcome. $50 flat rate covers all pets for the stay. No weight or breed restrictions. $150 fine for pet damage.
Smoking: Not allowed indoors. $250 fine for indoor smoking.
Quiet hours: 10 PM to 8 AM.
Parties or events: Not permitted.

Getting in: Several steps up to the entry door, no ramp. Ask us for the exact number before booking.
Bathroom: Walk-in shower. No roll-in shower and no grab bars.
Layout: Single storey, no interior stairs between floors. Gravel driveway and parking pad.

"We made it to the cabin after a 3 hour trip to find there was no toilet paper in the cabin so we had to venture back out to find some that took 45 minutes to a hour before we made it back to the cabin I reached out to Britney and it took a couple hours to get a response the hot tub is outdated and the water had a yellow tent to it so we was unable to enjoy the hot tub which was one of the main reasons we booked the cabin in the first place"

"This cabin was exactly what I was looking for—a secluded, private, and incredibly peaceful getaway. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, it felt like a true escape from everything. The sounds were amazing. One of my favorite features was the hot tub and the lighted porch area; sitting out there at night on the bench was so relaxing and added a special touch to the whole experience. Inside, everything was spotless. The bathroom was especially clean, and the overall upkeep of the cabin was impressive. It’s also pet-friendly, which is a huge plus, but you honestly wouldn’t even know pets had been there before—it was that well-maintained. I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable retreat."

"I’ve Stayed Here When It Was Previously The Colonial Quarters And It Was AMAZING Now It’s Over Priced, Dirty And Outdated. l Got Engaged Here Some Years Back And Just Got Married So We Decided To Honeymoon Here. Bad Choice Lol. They Had Leaf Blowers Going At Like 7am. The Cleaners Are Basically Hawking You Down Starting 8:45-9am Even Though Check Out Is At 10am. The Hot Tub Was Cloudy And I Pulled Hair From The filter Thing. All The Dishes Were Half Way Cleaned (Not Scrubbed So There Was Stuck On Food On EVERYTHING) The Place Smelled Of Cigarette Smoke And My Husband Just Stopped Smoking About 6 Months Ago So That Was A Problem I Had To Fix, Smh. When Heading To Bed We Found Dirt And Long Woman’s Hair In The Sheets And Peanuts, Candy And Wrappers Under The Bed (Very Clearly Seen From The Kitchen But Obviously Was Never Looked Under Or Swept.) I Had To Sweep Before We Took Our Shoes Off Due To The Dirt And Leaves In Every Crevice. And There Was Blue Frosting All Over The Back Porch.! 👎"

"Got a refund when I got there. There was mold on the hot tub and the couch had cigarette burns. I opened the oven and the glass fell out. Wasn’t what I expected so we found somewhere else to stay but the owner was very nice and friendly and the location was pretty."
